Edenton, NC

Mid-August, I went to Edenton for an overnight trip. Edenton is considered one of the prettiest small town in the South. It is located on the Albemarle sound, Eastern NC. Highjlights are the the 1886 River lighthouse and charming downtown near the waterfront.

At my arrival, the weather was mixed. A late afternoon shower prevented me to take some images. But the weather cleared nicely after dinner for sunset.

After the sun disappeared, the sky briefly took some nice colors.

The next morning, at sunrise, clouds were blocking the sun but patience paid off.

One of my favorite  subject is the cypress tree at the waterfront. It is well suited for a minimalist image with long exposure.

The final image was captured after sunrise when the light was getting too harsh, a view of the waterfront with the pier and the lighthouse.
